Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) continued their growth trajectory in September, serving more than 670,000 passengers in total. Compared to September 2024, all three airports — Vilnius, Kaunas, and Palanga — handled more passengers.

The overall passenger traffic across all three airports grew by almost 6 percent compared to the same month last year.

Individually, Kaunas and Palanga airports recorded double-digit passenger growth rates this September. Kaunas Airport served over 140,000 passengers — nearly a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Palanga Airport saw an impressive 19 percent rise in passenger numbers (40.2 thousand passengers), while Vilnius Airport grew by 4 percent (nearly 490 thousand passengers).

Palanga Airport’s September results were also boosted by the launch of charter flights to Egypt at the end of the month.

In total, 5,507 flights were handled across the LTOU network this September — almost 3 percent more than in September of last year. Vilnius Airport handled 3,916 flights, Kaunas Airport — 1,134 flights, and Palanga Airport — 457 flights.

It is also noted that a public opinion survey conducted in Lithuania this year revealed that 9 out of 10 people believe the quality of air travel in the country has improved over the past year. Among the main indicators of progress, respondents mentioned the reliable variety of flight destinations, convenient flight times, and frequency.
