As of 9:42 p.m. on October 26, air traffic at Vilnius Airport was temporarily suspended. According to initial reports, the decision to restrict the airspace was caused by balloons flying in the direction of Vilnius Airport. The airspace over Vilnius Airport was reopened at 4:30 a.m.

Due to these temporary restrictions, both arriving and departing flights were affected — some were cancelled. A total of 47 flights and more than 7,000 passengers were impacted.
In total: 13 flights were cancelled, 14 diverted, and 20 delayed at Vilnius Airport.

During the day, occasional flight delays may occur due to disrupted crew and aircraft rotations.

Passengers whose flights were cancelled are advised not to go to the airport and to contact their airlines directly for alternative travel options and further information. Airlines are required to provide passengers with all necessary details regarding next steps and flight alternatives.
