Saying ‘thank you’ is enough

During major holidays and on other important occasions, it is customary to give gifts, but we encourage you to express your good wishes and gratitude with words, not material items. A simple thank you is enough – what we value most is that you have thought of us.

At Lithuanian Airports, we follow a Zero Gift Policy, so we return any gifts we receive. Exceptions apply only to gifts worth no more than €150 received in connection with international protocol or traditions that are usually related to an employee’s duties, as well as gifts intended for representation purposes bearing the symbols of a country, institution, or other entity, or when services are used for official purposes. If the value of a gift exceeds the specified amount, it becomes the property of the state and is assessed and stored in the manner set out in the law.

How do we behave when we receive a gift?
  • Our employees refuse gifts that are not intended for representation purposes and are not part of international protocol or traditions; if gifts are received by mail, they immediately send them to the Legal and Administration Department to be returned.
  • If the giver of a gift is unknown, the gift is donated to charity.
  • In all cases, the fact that a gift has been received, given, or refused is documented. We operate in accordance with the highest ethical standards and take measures to prevent corruption, and each of our employees adheres to values-based rules of conduct. We promote transparency and openness, so airport employees, passengers and anyone else involved in or affected by our activities are encouraged to report any suspected corruption, professional ethics violations or other misconduct.
