On the night of Thursday, October 30, all flights and operations at Vilnius Airport were fully resumed.

At 8:10 p.m. on October 30, the airspace over Vilnius Airport was temporarily closed. According to preliminary information, the decision to impose airspace restrictions was made due to balloons flying toward Vilnius Airport. The airspace was reopened at 10:43 p.m.

Both arriving and departing flights were affected by the temporary restrictions, with several flights canceled. In total, 20 flights and more than 2,000 passengers were impacted. Overall, 4 flights were canceled, 2 were diverted, and 14 were delayed at Vilnius Airport.

Due to the temporary airspace closure, passengers, airlines, and the airport incurred losses amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros.

Important: Throughout the day, isolated flight delays may occur due to disrupted crew and aircraft rotations.

Passengers whose flights were canceled are advised not to travel to the airport and to contact their airlines directly for alternative travel arrangements and further information. Airlines are required to provide passengers with all necessary details regarding next steps and available flight options.
