Construction of a modern multifunctional car park commenced at Vilnius airport last year is nearing completion. In November passengers shall be offered nearly one thousand new car parking spaces. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The main purpose of the new multifunctional car park \u2013 development of car parking spaces at Vilnius Airport, therefore the biggest part of the multifunctional car park will be intended for long-term parking of passengers. The park operator is now UniPark (Stova UAB) which has long international experience and is currently administering eight 24\/24 h car parks at Vilnius AirPort. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The multifunctional car park will also house a car rental centre. 7 lessees selected by the tendering procedure \u2013 international trademarks Sixt, Hertz, Europcar, Enterprise, Green Motion, Panek and ACE Rent A Car \u2013 will operate in it. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPassengers will be able to pick up and drop a rented car in the very same building, under a roofed car park. The car rental centre will also offer all amenities necessary for passenger convenience \u2013 heated waiting lounge, baggage scales and meters, baggage carts, key return boxes, special entry for faster car return. Besides, a car wash facility is planned in the future\u201d, told the Commercial Director of Vilnius Airports Mr. Justinas Step\u0161ys.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the representative of Lithuanian Airports, when designing the car park much attention was devoted to convenience of drivers and passengers, therefore objects already functioning in other European airport ports have been analysed, as well as some car park solutions proven in the capital\u2019s airport have been implemented in this park. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cElectric car charger stations, quality video surveillance cameras will be available in the car park; motion sensor lighting system will ensure security of the cars parked in the lot. An escort and reference system will enable drivers to easily find free spaces, broad passages will provide space for easy manoeuvring by even for a not so-skilled drivers\u201d, told the Director of the Commercial Department. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Heated exit lanes for de-icing purposes, which is particularly relevant for drivers during the cold season will be installed in the new car park. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It will be possible to book a parking space in the new park in advance, and to pay for the service in different ways \u2013 online, via UniPark mobile application, or on site.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThose who arrive to this park will be able to further use the uniform booking and payment system developed by <\/span><\/span><\/span>UniPark which has become customary for airport visitors. Advance booking of a parking space is also available on the website of Vilnius Airport\u201d, told the Director of Stova UAB <\/span><\/span>Art\u016bras Satk\u016bnas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, an option of parking a car without booking a space in advance and simply paying before exiting the park in as many as three automatic cash registers accepting payment cards and cash will be available.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
