The airline Wizz Air has announced a new direct route connecting Vilnius with the vibrant Polish coastal city of Gda\u0144sk. Starting from May 2, 2026, this year-round service will further strengthen connectivity between Lithuania and Poland, offering both leisure and business travelers a convenient and affordable way to discover one of the most charming cities in the Baltic Sea region.<\/p>\n
Gda\u0144sk is one of Poland\u2019s most picturesque cities, renowned for its maritime heritage, colorful architecture, and beautiful Baltic beaches. Travelers can explore its historic Old Town, visit the impressive St. Mary\u2019s Church, stop by the European Solidarity Centre, or relax in the nearby seaside resorts of Sopot and Gdynia.<\/p>\n
Flights will operate four times per week \u2014 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Tickets are already available on wizzair.com and via the official WIZZ mobile app, with prices starting from \u20ac17.99.<\/p>\n

This new route follows last month\u2019s Wizz Air expansion plan announced jointly with Lithuanian Airports during a press conference in Vilnius. The airline revealed plans to significantly expand its operations in Lithuania \u2014 launching seven new routes between December 2025 and June 2026, connecting Vilnius and Palanga with new European destinations: Tallinn, Krak\u00f3w, Tirana, Podgorica, Nice, Turku, and Oslo.<\/p>\n
Additionally, this winter Wizz Air will base a third Airbus A321neo aircraft in Vilnius, increasing capacity, creating additional jobs, and strengthening its position as the second-largest airline in Lithuania by market share.<\/p>\n
The new route was also welcomed by Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe direct flight to Gda\u0144sk will further strengthen ties between Lithuania and Poland, particularly in the tourism sector. Gda\u0144sk will become the 23rd direct Wizz Air route from Lithuanian airports and another strategically important Polish city accessible via direct flights, alongside Warsaw and Krak\u00f3w. Interestingly, this will be the shortest Wizz Air route from Lithuania \u2014 the flight to Gda\u0144sk is even shorter than the one to Tallinn.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wizz Air has been operating in Lithuania since 2005 and has already carried nearly 13 million passengers to and from the country. The airline currently offers 23 routes from Lithuania, connecting travelers to 17 countries through three airports.<\/p>\n
