Joint-stock company Lietuvos oro uostai(code of the legal entity: 120864074, legal address: Rodūnios kelias 10A, Vilnius, Lietuva; phone No.: +370 612 44442; e-mail:  (hereinafter referred to as we or the Lietuvos oro uostai) understands personal data protection is important for our customers, suppliers/providers, partners, and other persons (hereinafter referred to as the data subject), who cooperate or use services of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga international airports. For this reason, we take all reasonable measures to ensure privacy of each data subject and enable person to exercise his personal data protection rights.

In this privacy notice we provide all of the information on how we process personal data of data subjects, while acting as data controller, including:

  • information about purposes and legal grounds for the processing of personal data;
  • information about categories of personal data being processed;
  • information about the retention period of personal data;
  • information about recipients of personal data, to whom data is transferred for familiarization or further processing;
  • information about the rights of data subjects and possible ways to exercise their rights;
  • information on other issues related to the processing of personal data.

The privacy notice shall be applied to all natural persons, who cooperate or use the services of all three airports in Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga), visit our websites and/or premises/facilities, stay active on our social network accounts and/or provide their personal data to the Lietuvos oro uostai for other purposes.

Our employees and members of the management bodies are informed about the processing of their personal data in the manner and by means established in the internal regulations of the Lietuvos oro uostai.

The privacy notice has been drawn up based on the following regulations:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereinafter referred to as the GDPR); 
  • The Republic of Lithuania Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data No XIII-1426 of 30 June 2018 (hereinafter referred to as the LLPPD);
  • The Republic of Lithuania Law on Electronic Communications No IX-2135 of 15 April 2004;
  • The latest guidelines and explanations of the European Data Protection Board;
  • The guidelines of the State Data Protection Inspectorate (hereinafter referred to as the SDPI guidelines);
  • The guidelines of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (hereinafter referred to as the ENISA guidelines).

This privacy notice is an integral part of a data protection policy approved by the Lietuvos oro uostai.

How do we collect your data? 

 Depending on the nature of our cooperation, we collect/process your personal data:

  • received directly from the data subject or his authorized representative (natural person), including, but not limited to, those events where we provide you services of various nature, you send us requests/applications, you share your experiences with us while using public communication channels, you lodge your claims or complaints, you participate in loyalty programs organized by us for our customers or if you send us your CV in order to become a candidate for an open position at the company;
  • received as a result of data generation by means of electronic devices, including, but not limited, to those events where you access the premises/facilities or the territory of the Lietuvos oro uostai, you visit our websites or fall under the field of operation of our video surveillance or sound recording devices;
  • received from other sources, including, but not limited to, insurance companies, air carriers and/or public authorities (state institutions, authorities or other legal entities, which exercise state/public functions/authority).

How do we protect your data?

In order to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks involved in the processing of personal data, Lietuvos oro uostai shall implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures. In selecting and implementing appropriate technical and organizational security measures, to ensure the appropriate level of security for the processing of data, we shall be guided by:

To whom we provide your data?

Lietuvos oro uostai only use data processors that ensure compliance with the GDPR and the same level of personal data security as set out in our privacy policy.

Data recipients of Lietuvos oro uostai can be divided into the following categories: 

  • state/municipal bodies, institutions or other public authorities which are legally obliged to receive personal data;
  • companies providing data center, hosting, cloud, website administration and other related services, and companies that design, maintain and develop software, this includes providers of information technology infrastructure and communication services;
  • services providers and subcontractors, other than those listed above, to whom the implementation of certain services at Lietuvos oro uostai has been outsourced; 
  • law enforcement authorities upon their request or on our initiative where there are reasonable grounds to suspect that a criminal offence has been committed.

Do we provide your data outside of the European Union and the European Economic Area?

We ensure that your data is processed in accordance with the requirements and standards established by European Union legislation and inform you that the majority of your personal data is processed within the European Union or the European Economic Area.

In the event that Lietuvos oro uostai are unable to adequately perform their functions and/or provide the services you require without the use of processors located outside the European Economic Area, we take responsibility to ensure that your personal data will be transferred to third countries or international organizations in accordance with the data transfer requirements set out in Articles 45 to 50 of the GDPR.

Personal data may be transferred to third countries and international organizations on the following grounds:

  • on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission, which means that the European Commission has recognized the country in which the third party is established and/or carries out its activities as providing an appropriate level of protection of personal data that is equivalent to that of the European Union;
  • on the basis of a data transfer contract concluded with the third party, which is prepared in accordance with the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission;
  • on the basis of standard data protection terms and conditions drawn up by the State Data Protection Inspectorate;
  • on the basis of a code of conduct adopted by the State Data Protection Inspectorate, which contains binding and enforceable obligations for the controller or processor in the third country to apply appropriate safeguards;
  • on the basis of a data transfer certificate approved by the State Data Protection Inspectorate, which confirms the obligations of the controller or processor to apply appropriate and mandatory safeguards in the third country.

Consequences of failure to provide data  

You have the right to refuse to provide your personal data, however, the provision of your personal data is necessary and required for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, and if you do not provide your personal data, we will not be able to carry out our duties, fulfil the purposes set out in the privacy notice, and to provide you with the services you require.

What rights you have and how you can exercise them?

  1. The right of access to personal data. That is to say, that you have a right to request information on whether your personal data is being processed and, if your personal data is being processed, to have access to your personal data. 
  2. The right to rectification of personal data. That is to say, that you have a right to request the rectification of your personal data if you find that your personal data that we process is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate. 
  3. The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"). That is to say, that you have a right to request the erasure of your personal data if you believe that your data is being processed unlawfully or fraudulently, or in other cases provided for by law.

That is to say, that you have a right to request the restriction (suspension) of the processing of your personal data, with the exception of storage, if you contest the accuracy of the data or object to the processing of the data, or if you object to the erasure of your personal data that are being unlawfully processed, when this data needed in order to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims;

That is to say, that you have right to request the transfer of your personal data, which has been obtained directly from you and processed by automated means, directly to you and/or to another data controller in a structured, commonly used and computer-readable format. 
  6. Right to object to processing. That is to say, that you have a right to object to the processing of personal data where the processing is carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest or on the grounds of public interest.
  7. The right to request that you would not be a subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you. 
  8. The right to withdraw at any time the consents you have given to us in relation to the processing of your personal data, including but not limited, to consents to the use of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing.

You can exercise your rights: 

  1. By sending us a free-form request to [email protected]. The request must be signed with an electronic signature or be accompanied by a copy of your personal ID document certified by a notary public, so that we could verify your identity;
  2. If you send your application by registered mail to 10A, Rodūnios kelias, Vilnius, Lietuva, it must be signed with an electronic signature, or a copy of your identity document, certified by a notary public, must be attached to your request;
  3. By providing a verbal request, when arriving at the premises of the Lietuvos oro uostai. In this case, an employee of the administration may temporarily ask for your personal ID document in order to establish your identity;
  4. By applying through your authorized representative. In this case, your representative must provide his/her name, surname, contact details, a copy of the personal ID document certified by a notary public, information about you: name, surname, other data on the basis of which we can identify you as a data subject, as well as a copy of the document justifying your representation certified by a notary public.

In cases where there has been previous communication between you and Lietuvos oro uostai and we are able to establish your identity on the basis of that communication, it is not necessary to provide copies of documents confirming your identity.

Your request must be clear and legible if made in writing. If possible, it should include the name of the data subject, contact information for the preferred form of communication, details of the right, including its scope, that the data subject wishes to exercise and/or enforce under the GDPR. 

We will respond to your request no later than one calendar month from the date your request was received. In exceptional cases, requiring additional time, we will have the right, upon noticing you, to extend the time limit for the provision of the requested data or for the processing of other requirements set out in your request by up to 3 calendar months from the reception of your request.
